THE DIRTY FRENCHMAN PRESENTS – FUCKMATAZZ VOL II: MOOMBAHFUCK or THE FUCKET LIST   Leave a comment

Here the fuck it is! FUCKMATAZZ VOL II: MOOMBAHFUCK or THE FUCKET LIST. TAKE YOUR PICK! It can be what you want it to be. One thing that it is is proof that Walmer Convenience murders moombahton like your mom murdered your dad and then told you that he left you because he doesn’t love you. We were one of the first blogs to break moombahton when that scrappy adolescent known as Munchi was still emailing people asking them to listen to his shit (happy recovery buddy). You can tweet about moombahton all you like. You can have a moombahton night and act like your are the most moombahtoniest in your city (Toronto) but you will never play it like Walmer. Mix and tracklist after THE MOTHERFUCKIN JUMP…

Look at us! This song is so old! It proves we have musical knowledge!   Leave a comment

Helen – Zanzibar (remix) (zshare)

Obviously all of you know nothing about music and obviously you all need djs like us to teach you about music because you need to know about the “real” good music. Good music is obviously old music. It couldn’t be new music that has a different sound than stuff you have already heard a million times. No sir. Why would you want to be confronted with new things that challenge you and build off the past rather than remaining entrenched in it. This obviously is the opposite of what we think but there are many who feel otherwise. Anyway, this is an old song. This dates from 1984 and it’s chill. The thing about us is that we know about the history of music but our love of it makes us want to always find new sounds. If everyone was against new sounds then we would all be just banging sticks against rocks. If you want to hear new sounds come to this:

Check it out on facebook.

OLD SONG OF THE DAY: YELLOW POWER – HAI SAMURAI   2 comments

Yellow Power – Hai Samurai! (zshare)

You are probably asking “Why is Walmer posting a song from 1982 when two posts ago the criticized people that play old music?” Well the reason is that we are hypocrites. Actually not really, only The Dirty Frenchman is a hypocrite. The real reason is that we like some old songs. We just choose not to play them in public. We are not trying to educate or show how smart we are when we dj. We just like to rock people out to crazy new sounds. Walmer parties are like this:

Actually they’re not. They are way better than that. That was horrible. This is what we do at Walmer Convenience now, post shitty videos.

SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW   1 comment

Cyber People – Void Vision (zshare)

Hey! Yeah we’re yelling at you! Look over here! How would you like to listen to a song that sounds like future anime music from the 1980’s? Well if you said yes then this is you time to shine and if you said no then you need to grab a kleenex to wipe your eyes and your vagina with. This is some straight up iced out italo disco madness jabbed right into your ears. You just feel immersed in a world of wonder:

Old video games aside this is just music to show where things started. Like showing how country and bluegrass led to hip-hop. The Dirty Frenchman first became aware of that song walking among the commercial warehouses on the outskirts of Mississauga in the spring of 2006. It was a glorious day.

But you want new music too. You’re like “this is a blog, not a museum”. And you’re right.  Well what about this:

Vybz Kartel – Clarks Again (zshare)

Little Vybz Kartel is back to sing you a song of love and dance the dance of life. Or dance the dance of shoes. It’s actually a great song this is. The “again” in the title is supposed o tip you off that this is the part two of this song:

We are are so glad he made a part two to that song because of how it ended on a cliffhanger and you’re all like “what will happen next with the toothbrush cleaning the shoes?”. You lined up around the e-block to see the part two on youtube. You ran to the store to buy Clarks.

Laser Dance – Powerrun (vocodor version) (zshare)

There is a certain place in the heart of The Dirty Frenchman for tunes like this that sound like they are from the future of the past. Like when they made this song they were thinking “This is how music will sound in 1998 when the Soviet Union has finally ended apartheid on Mars South Africa!”. This just sounds like the type of song that you would want to have playing with a montage where you train for the big game and after struggling you slowly get better and better. Like this:

Enjoy the Olympics Canada!

PS With all this talk of montages going around we thought that you might want a special treat with the best 1980s montages money can buy. Here you go:

OLD SONG OF THE DAY: GIORGIO MORODER – FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE IN SECOND HAND LOVE   2 comments

Giorgio Moroder

Giorgio Moroder – First Hand Experience In Second Hand Love (zshare)

Giorgio Moroder is the inventor of italo disco and in many ways the pioneer of danceable electronic music. He is also the king of the ‘stache. This guy knows what we’re talking about:

P1080067

This guy definitely knows what we’re talking about:

stalin

This guy does not:

michael_jackson_ne-yo.0.0.0x0.365x365

Because he’s dead.

But seriously folks. This song is a great example of why Giorgio Moroder is a master. This shit dropped in 1977. Think about it. That’s some next level shit. This guy is basically the man who brought the producer into the forefront. No one cared about who produced shit before. Now producers are one of the biggest selling points of tracks. This is just Walmer trying to educate the children. You know because this blog is so totally made for people who listen to Miley Cyrus.

Doctor’s Cat – Watch Out! (zshare)

This song is called Watch Out! So watch out!

Watch out!

That aside, this is a great song from the world of italo disco. If that genre is your thing, then Doctor’s Cat should be on your to-do list. Other awesome songs are Feel the Drive and Crash. Look into it.
