Crookers – Gypsy P (zshare)

Often, when one thinks of gypsies, one thinks of this:

gypsies-005

or this:

gypsy kings.9f382231-27fa-40a1-8ec1-719ee2fe68fc

(why is it spelled “gipsy”?)

In other words (as opposed to images) one thinks of quaint traveling folk who play music and dress weird and thieve (but in a charming fashion) and occasionally put curses on people that make them never stop losing weight or other shit. You know. White voodoo. But if you have ever lived in Europe for any amount of time you will know that more often than not, gypsys are like this:

Yeah. Not so romantic now. Anyway this song is fucking great. The Dirty Frenchman found it and he loves it and played it 20 times today already. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it is different. It is Crookers trying to go gypsy style. Maybe that is because they don’t know what style to be anymore after those heady days of 2007-2008 when the world seemed clear to them as crystal. Now they are lost in a fog of doubt. Sure they have their riches and acclaim and $10,000 gigs and free blow on Air France but is it enough? Can they survive on the fumes of Day N’ Nite?

No. But this song is good.
