SONG OF THE DAY: AMADOU & MARIAM – SABALI (UPROOT ANDY REMIX)   1 comment

Amadou & Miriam

Amadou & Miriam – Sabali (Uproot Andy Remix) (zshare)

Now this right here is a damn good song. Amadou & Miriam are a group from Mali that do a type of music called Afro-Blues (that does not sound like the blues at all). This is the type of song that should play when you first set eyes on the woman (or person if you are not us) who you know you will spend the rest of your life with. Or maybe you will not spend the rest of your life with her. Maybe you will just have kids and not have sex that is good and then get divorced. This could be the song that ushers in many long years of missionary sex followed by disappointment. Oh sure, she’ll get on top once in a while after you have a few too many at Red Lobster during “date night”, but it won’t be great. On a more on topic note, Uproot Andy is an upcoming producer, dj and remixer who explores a whole bunch of different styles from South America and Africa. This one is interesting because it mixes African music and b-more. Here’s the video of the original track:
